MADISON (WKOW) — Officers at UW-Madison say even with fewer individuals on campus, there is a greater want for meals.
A method the college tackles meals insecurity is thru its Frozen Meals program.
It takes meals that hasn’t been served in eating halls and repackages it into frozen meals, that are then distributed throughout campus.
College students experiencing meals insecurity can then get these meals totally free.
“Whenever you obtain a nutritious meal, you are not desirous about how hungry you might be, you are desirous about the take a look at you could have arising the subsequent day or the homework task you need to do. And that is what’s most essential for our pupil inhabitants,” stated Agnes Sherman, registered dietitian for College Housing.
This system is getting a lift this yr by a partnership with UW Hillel, the group that helps Jewish college students on campus.
Hillel gives kosher meals to this system every week.
